Terms

Terms of use

Plain-language terms for using RDM, its browser extension and this website.

Last updated: October 26, 2026

  • You're responsible for what you download — respect copyright and the websites' terms.
  • RDM never circumvents DRM or other copy protection, and you may not use it to try.
  • RDM is provided as-is, without warranties.

Using RDM

RDM — Retro Download Manager ("RDM") is free to use during early access. You may install it on your own computers and use it for personal or work downloads. You may not resell or redistribute RDM, or modify it to remove or misrepresent who made it. Download RDM only from this website so you get the genuine, unmodified installer.

What you download is your responsibility

RDM is a tool that downloads files you choose. You are solely responsible for what you download and how you use it. Only download content you have the right to download, and follow the law where you live as well as the terms of the websites you download from. Copyrighted material belongs to its owners.

No DRM circumvention

RDM does not circumvent DRM, encryption or any other technical protection measure, and it doesn't download from YouTube. You agree not to use RDM, or try to modify it, to bypass such protections.

Updates and early access

RDM is in early access: features may change, and things may occasionally break. We may release updates, change or discontinue features, or introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, anything you've already downloaded stays yours, and we'll say clearly what changes.

Provided "as is"

RDM, the extension and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that RDM will be error-free, uninterrupted or that it will reach any particular download speed — that depends on the servers you download from and your connection.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, files or profits arising from your use of RDM. Keep backups of anything important.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; continuing to use RDM after a change means you accept the updated terms.
